Privacy Policy
Last updated May 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Prelto collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Prelto Mac application, websites, cloud services, and connected workflows.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, Prelto may collect account information, authentication data, billing status, product usage data, support messages, connected integration data, and usage or diagnostic metadata. The Mac app also processes local content on your device, including microphone audio, transcripts, prompts, generated text, and workflow outputs.
2. Voice and Text Content
Speech-to-text in Prelto runs locally on your Mac. Raw microphone audio is not sent to Prelto servers for transcription. The app may temporarily store audio locally on your device for product operation, such as crash recovery.
When you use cloud-enabled formatting, Assistant, command rewrite, or connected workflows such as Clio capture, Prelto may send transcripts, selected text, prompts, field text, workflow context, and model outputs to Prelto Cloud and service providers for processing. Prelto does not store raw transcripts, prompts, selected text, field text, or model outputs in its production database as part of ordinary service operation.
Release diagnostics redact content-bearing fields by default. Support can review content only if you choose to share it with us, such as in a support message or diagnostic export.
3. Accounts, Billing, and Entitlements
Prelto uses account and billing information to authenticate users, manage access, apply trials or beta grants, enforce usage limits, provide subscriptions, and prevent abuse. Payment details are handled by payment providers such as Stripe or platform billing providers.
4. Connected Services
If you connect a third-party service, such as a practice management system, Prelto may process authorization codes, access tokens, refresh tokens, matter metadata, contacts, time entry details, notes, or other data needed to perform the workflow you request.
5. Service Providers
We use service providers for hosting, authentication, billing, analytics or diagnostics, customer support, AI processing, email delivery, and connected workflow operations. These providers may process information only as needed to provide services to Prelto.
6. How We Use Information
- Provide, secure, and improve Prelto.
- Transcribe, transform, and format user-requested content.
- Operate account, billing, trial, beta, and entitlement systems.
- Support connected workflows you authorize.
- Respond to support requests and diagnose product issues.
- Comply with legal, security, and abuse-prevention obligations.
7. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, billing, backup, or operational reasons. Local data stored by the Mac app remains on your device unless you choose to sync or use cloud features.
Production Cloud AI usage records are metadata-only and may include route, provider or model, character or token counts, status, timing, and cost-accounting information, but not raw content bodies.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information in transit and at rest. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, and you are responsible for maintaining the security of your devices and account credentials.
9. Your Choices
You may choose whether to use local or cloud features where the product offers that choice. You may disconnect integrations, cancel subscriptions, delete local app data from your device, or contact us to request deletion of account data where applicable.
10. Children
Prelto is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
12. Contact
