Prelto ("we", "our", or "the app") is a voice note app that records audio, transcribes it, and processes it into structured notes. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
When you first open the app, a random device identifier (UUID) is generated and stored locally on your device. This identifier is used to authenticate your device with our servers and track your subscription status and usage. It is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID.
When you record a voice note, the audio is sent to our servers for transcription via a third-party speech-to-text service (Deepgram). The audio is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers or logged by the transcription provider after processing is complete.
Your transcribed text is processed by an AI service (OpenAI, via Microsoft Azure) to generate structured notes. The text is sent for processing only — we do not log, store, or retain your transcripts or notes on our servers. The processed notes are stored locally on your device and nowhere else.
We track how many seconds of audio you have processed to enforce usage limits based on your subscription tier. This data is associated with your device identifier, not your personal identity.
Subscription purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store and managed via RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (active, expired, etc.) but do not have access to your payment details, Apple ID, or billing information.
If you choose to send feedback from within the app, your message and (optionally) the content of the associated note may be sent to our servers. Feedback is associated with your device identifier.
We use the following third-party services to operate the app:
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
Your notes and audio recordings are stored locally on your device only. We do not maintain a copy of your content on our servers. Audio and text are sent to third-party services for real-time processing and are not retained after the response is returned.
Server-side data is limited to your device identifier, usage counters, and subscription status. This data is stored in a secure database hosted on AWS with encryption at rest and in transit.
You can delete your notes at any time from within the app. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. If you would like your server-side data (device identifier and usage records) deleted, contact us at the email below.
Prelto is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL.
